Page Content Cleaner air, avoided costs We've teamed up with Colorado Springs-based Neumann Systems Group to begin installing innovative clean technology to reduce emissions at our power plants. The new technology will enable us to comply with stricter EPA emissions control rules at a much lower cost than conventional power plant emissions technology. Learn more.   The power of a citizen-owned utility Colorado Springs citizens voted in 1924 to acquire the electric system after growing dissatisfied with private utilty prices and service.  The community has since enjoyed the advantages of owning their own utility: lower rates, high reliability, local decision-making and hometown customer service.
