The safety and well-being of all employees is of great importance at Colorado Springs Utilities. When accidents do occur, our safety and health team is prepared with the experience and knowledge to respond apprpriately.

Our on-site medical clinic treats minor on-the-job injuries, manages workers' compensation cases and provides medical monitoring and routine required examinations. The ergonomics experts help manage our workplace to ensure your quality of life, as well as your ability to be efficient and productive.

The following principles help ensure that safety is part of our activities, decision processes, operations and practices.

  • Accidents are an unacceptable impediment to the business success of Springs Utilities, the morale of all employees and the preservation of costly resources. Accident prevention is aggressively pursued.
  • Decision makers at every level will employ risk management approaches to prevent unacceptable risk to the safety of personnel and property, both public and private.
  • The acquisition of materials, equipment, facilities, and systems maximizes the use of engineering design to prevent or control unacceptable risks.
  • Life cycle safety considerations will be considered in the procurement, use and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials, so as not to endanger or compromise public health and safety or the environment.
