Internal job postings

It is the policy of Colorado Springs Utilities to provide promotional opportunities for those individuals currently employed by the organization. Therefore, some following positions are only open to our regular and special employees at this time. 

Applying for a position with our organization is easy!

  • Select a job title from the list of open positions on the right.
  • Use the “Apply Now” link at the bottom of the description to open the application form.
  • We only accept complete online applications. Applications received via mail, fax or e-mail will not be considered for a position.
  • Employment applications are accepted for current openings only.

Completing the application

  • Please complete the entire form, including all of your education and past work experience.
  • You may enter (or copy and paste) up to 4,000 characters in the “job duties” sections.
  • We have provided a separate field to enter a cover letter or provide additional information about your qualifications – also up to 4,000 characters.
  • To send us your application, use the "Submit" button at the end of the form.
  • After submitting your form, a confirmation screen will appear to verify that your application has been accepted. If you do not receive a confirmation screen, call 719-668-7500 for assistance.

Keeping tabs on your application

You can keep track of the posting by the requisition number on our job posting status page. Due to the large volume of applications we receive, we are, unfortunately, unable to respond to individual inquiries regarding the status of your application. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted.

Employment verification

Federal immigration law requires all employers to verify the identity and employment eligibility of all persons hired to work in the United States. Colorado Springs Utilities has partnered with the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration to verify the employment eligibility of all newly-hired employees. Our participation in the basic pilot program does not exempt us from the obligation to complete a Form I-9 for everyone we hire. In addition, any supporting documents from List B of the Form I-9 must have a photograph of the newly hired employee.
