Colorado Springs Utilities will receive the Patriot Award for outstanding employer support of the United States Army Reserve and National Guard today at the Colorado Springs City Council meeting beginning at 1 p.m. at City Hall, 107 N Nevada Ave. The award, presented on behalf of the Department of Defense at the Colorado Springs City Council meeting, recognizes the support Springs Utilities has shown mobilized National Guardsmen and Reservists brought back on active duty in support of the Global War on Terror. Lt. Col. Greg Kropkowski nominated Springs Utilities for the award and will present the certificate to Springs Utilities CEO Jerry Forte.
