Closure begins April 8 Beginning on April 8, and continuing for approximately four to six weeks, Royer Street, between Fountain Boulevard and Las Vegas Street, will be closed to traffic so Colorado Springs Utilities can install parallel electric transmission lines from the new Santa Fe Substation. The substation and transmission lines will expand electric capacity and enhance service reliability for the downtown area. Traffic delays are expected throughout the duration of the project. Motorists are strongly encouraged to find alternate routes during construction. Local business access will remain open.
