Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking a diverse pool of applicants for its Watershed Access Advisory Group (WAAG). The group is being formed as part of Springs Utilities’ effort to gain ongoing community insight on its watershed access policy and trail development on or near City-owned watersheds and reservoirs, including those on Pikes Peak. The WAAG will be a combination of individuals with technical expertise and those who can represent a variety of community values and concerns. Group members will offer recommendations on public participation, review and respond to technical documentation, and provide feedback on the decision-making process. Though the group is not a decision-making body, all ideas will be welcomed and considered. The group will be represented by nine to 11 Springs Utilities customers. Beyond the WAAG, there will be regular opportunities in the coming months for customers to provide input on trail development and watershed access policy issues. Participation in the WAAG will involve: - A two-year term, with regular meeting attendance.
- Full participation in meeting discussions. Some tasks may be outside of assigned meeting times.
- Assistance in the development of evaluation criteria for the trail development process.
