Colorado Springs Utilities ranked sixth in the nation for overall residential customer satisfaction, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2007 Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study, which surveys electric customers for 76 utilities throughout the country. Overall customer satisfaction is based on performance in six areas: power quality and reliability; company image; price and value; communications; billing and payment; and customer service. For the second straight year, Springs Utilities ranked third in the medium-size utilities segment, utilities serving between 160,000 and 400,000 customers. The smallest utility surveyed, Springs Utilities serves about 181,000 residential electric customers. While overall customer satisfaction for the industry declined from 2006, Springs Utilities' customer satisfaction rose slightly during the same period. Springs Utilities earned high marks for customer service and power quality and reliability, taking second and third nationwide in these areas. In fact, this year, Springs Utilities ranked among the top 12 utilities nationwide in every area. J.D. Power and Associates news release (PDF) Media Contact: 719-668-3848 |
