| A new natural gas meter installation process is expected to save up to $1 million in five years through scheduling, inspection, installation, and operational and mechanical efficiencies. A new, prefabricated, factory-coated gas meter bar will replace the current meter loop configuration. The new process is also faster and more efficient, allowing the meter to be installed much earlier in the homebuilding process, benefiting home builders and contractors. The process is also safer for employees in regard to ergonomics, reducing the amount of repetitive motion on the elbows and knees.
