Four services, one utility
We provide electric, natural gas, water and wastewater services to citizens and businesses in the Pikes Peak region. This 4-in-1 service brings the convenience of one phone call to address all your utilities needs along with the economies of scale to provide some of the most reliable and low-cost services in the nation. We’re committed to our customers’ needs, and we’ll work hard to be your utility partner.
Reliable service
Year after year, Springs Utilities customers receive some of the most reliable electric service in the nation. Of the 109 utilities participating in the 2010 IEEE Electric Reliability Survey, Colorado Springs Utilities ranked 4th best for average service interruption time.
Competitive rates
We don’t pay profits to shareholders. Any revenue above business costs is invested back into operations to maintain safe, reliable service. Most of the electricity needed by the community is generated at efficiently-run, local power plants. The combined 4-service (electric, gas, water and wastewater) bill in Colorado Springs compares favorably to other cities. Our typical commercial customer's 4-service bill was 3rd lowest in a recent comparison of the 22 cities Colorado Springs most often competes with for economic development. Our typical industrial customer's bill was 5th lowest in the 22-city comparison.

Financial stability
We maintain some of the strongest bond ratings in the country—and have for several years. Standard & Poor’s, Fitch and Moody’s ratings services in 2011 affirmed our AA long-term rating. A strong bond rating means lower borrowing costs for system improvements, resulting in savings for customers.
Involved in the community
We believe in helping improve the quality of life where we live and do business. Community service gives us a chance to give something back to the community that provides our livelihood. In 2011, our employees, their friends and families volunteered more than 25,000 hours in service to the community.
Exceptional customer service
We spend a great amount of time listening to customers, understanding their business and solving problems together. Our focus is to help customers succeed. We help customers with engineering concepts for utility redundancy; we offer rate options to help customers operate more efficiently; and we provide audits, advice and efficiency rebates to help customers reduce their costs.
