Springs Utilities wants to help you succeed. We know that your business is unique and your energy use varies depending on the time of day, the season and your production schedule. That's why we offer price options that may fit the way you do business.

Learn more through the links on the left.  For additional information call your account manager, or call the Business Services Group at 448-4800.

Electric Non-Demand Option

Available for customers on the ETL rate schedule (1,000 kWh/day minimum.) This may be a good option if you use 75 percent or more of your annual electric use during either the summer or winter period. Call your account manager for details.

Electric Kilowatcher Option

Available to E8T and E8S customers. The Kilowatcher plan may be a good option if your business has the ability to curtail electric use with 24 hour notice from Utilities. You may be asked to curtail for up to 100 hours over the course of 12 months. Follow the link on the left side of this page for more details.

Natural Gas Transportation Rate Option

Natural gas transportation rate open season is currently underway and continues through Monday, April 30, 2012. See the presentation.

What you need to know about the gas transportation option:

  • This new firm gas transportation service option is available for qualifying business customers with a minimum annual natural gas usage of at least 150,000 ccf.
  • Customers must have the desire, expertise and resources to make their own contractual arrangements to purchase natural gas to cover some or all of their business requirements.
  • Customers must make their own contractual arrangements to have that natural gas transported from the supply source to their business location.
  • Participation in the open season is non-binding.
  • The service request form (below) must be completed and submitted in order to participate.
  • Only those customers that participate in the non-binding open season will be eligible to receive and discuss a gas transportation service contract.
  • All natural gas transportation service agreements must be signed and returned to Colorado Springs Utilities with payment of the initial service fee of $25,000 no later than May 31, 2012.
  • Natural gas transportation service will begin on November 1, 2012 for all customers who sign contracts and meet all of the requirements for service.
  • Contact your account manager, or Bill Bolch at 668-3849, if you have any questions.
