We offer rate options that may result in lower utility bills depending on the way you use electricity or natural gas to meet your business needs. Below are general descriptions of the rate options currently available.

Kilowatcher – If you are an electric customer who has used 500 kW or higher electrical demand during the past 12 billing periods and have the ability to reduce your electric load, this rate-saving plan could be for you. We ask Kilowatcher customers to reduce their electric loads up to 100 hours per contract year. During those 100 hours, the price is substantially higher. In return, you will pay a lower price than our standard rate for the remaining on-peak hours during the year.

Fixed Price – One of the energy management solutions we offer is a Fixed Price Options program for industrial customers to lock-in electric and/or natural gas rates. While the option is available at a premium to current rates, your company is protected from fuel cost increases that may occur during the contract year.

Interruptible Gas – Business customers who have the capability to interrupt their natural gas service from time to time upon notice may qualify for our Natural Gas Interruptible Sales rate. In exchange for the ability to interrupt service, Colorado Springs Utilities provides customers a lower-cost rate.

Seasonal Gas – Our natural gas seasonal rate option features a lower summer rate (May-October) and higher winter rate (November-April) than our standard commercial service. This option is designed to benefit customers who consume more natural gas in the summer or who have a load that is not weather driven.

If you would like further information from Colorado Springs Utilities about any of our rate options, please contact us.
