Customer Service Residential Business Community Environment About Us
Business > Economic Vitality

During peak use, we mix propane and air with the natural gas to stretch our resource supply and increase reliability.

Colorado Springs Utilities does not own any natural gas fields. However, we own and maintain an extensive network of pipes that safely deliver natural gas to commercial and residential customers throughout Colorado Springs.

To reduce the impacts of market volatility on our customers, we incorporate a price-hedging program for the purchase of natural gas. The program calls for the hedging of more than 70% of our natural gas supply needs annually.
