| President's Volunteer Service Award recipients Recently, two dozen employee volunteers earned the 2006 President's Volunteer Service Award for their valuable contributions to our community. Each of them exceeded 100 hours of ongoing volunteer service to one or more community organizations. - Bronze award: 100 hours
- Silver award: 500 hours
- Gold award: 1,000 plus hours.

The award is issued by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation - created by President George W. Bush - to recognize the valuable contributions volunteers make to our nation. Each recipient received a letter from President Bush, a certificate and a lapel pin. | At Colorado Springs Utilities, we believe in helping improve the quality of life where we live and do business. G.I.V.E. daysBeginning May 5 and continuing for the next three weekends, more than 270 Colorado Springs Utilities employees and their families volunteered their time to 25 community projects in Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs and Pueblo. Volunteer efforts include packaging food for the hungry, building homes, working on trails and repairing homes for the elderly. |
