We're planning our second annual Earth Day event at the Conservation and Environmental Center (2855 Mesa Road). Bring the whole
family - there will be events and activities for adults and kids, including water and energy efficiency workshops, displays,
resources, mascots and a coloring contest.
You'll have the opportunity to learn more about:
- Water and energy efficiency
- Solar and wind power
- Landscape techniques for our semi-arid climate
- Wildlife protection
- ENERGY STARŪ home improvements
- Green vehicle technology
- and much more!
This year, we've partnered with Wal-Mart to offer free compact fluorescent lamps to all who attend (while supplies last). Get
there early to get you energy-saving lamp!
Free classes are scheduled for:
9 a.m.: Introduction to Xeriscape(tm)
10 a.m.: Wildlife and raptor presentation
11 a.m.: Energy and water efficiency workshop
Displays, vendors and interactive activities will be available throughout the day. Food will be available for purchase.
