| Xeriscape™ Basics: An Overview This overview busts some common myths about Xeriscape™. Included is an introduction to Xeriscape principles, as well as a look at the elements that are suited to our semi-arid climate. Beginning April 19 (weather permitting), a tour of the Xeriscape Demonstration Garden will be offered after the overview class. This is a great chance to see how the principles are applied in a real landscape. - Saturday, May 3, 9 a.m. and garden tour 11 a.m.

Classes are free and no registration is required. Workshops are held at the Conservation and Environmental Center/Xeriscape Demonstration Garden (2855 Mesa Road). Call 668-4555 for more information. New irrigation classes Saturday, May 10 9 to 10 a.m.: How to make your sprinkler system more efficient - We'll focus on no-cost and low-cost things you can do easily to improve your sprinkler system, giving you significant water and money savings. We will also discuss briefly some new technologies for your consideration which could lead to even greater savings.
10:30 to 11:30 a.m.: Drip irrigation - We'll address all aspects of drip – choice of components, techniques for installation, proper scheduling, modification as the landscape matures and general maintenance principles. The session will provide ample opportunity for questions and hands-on learning.
