SCIENCE

Standard 2. Students know and understand common properties, forms, and changes in matter and energy. Especially 2.2- that energy appears in different forms and can move and change

Standard 4. Students know and understand the processes and interactions of Earth's systems and the structure and dynamics of Earth and other objects in space. Especially 4.1 explaining how minerals, rocks and soils form and 4.4 the structure of the solar system, composition and interactions of objects in the universe.

Standard 5. Students know and understand interrelationships among science, technology, and human activity and how they can affect the world. Especially describing the extent of human uses of renewable and non-renewable resources, describing how the use of technology can help solve an individual or community problem, describing how people use science and technology in their professions.

Standard 5. Students read to locate, select, and make use of relevant information from a variety of media, reference, and technological sources. Especially using organizational features of electronic information.

Standard 6. Students read and recognize literature as a record of human experience. Especially reading, responding to, and discussing a variety of novels, poetry, short stories, non-fiction, content-area and technical material, and plays.
