RAW WATER TREATMENT FACILITIES

The Colorado Springs Utilities currently uses six
facilities
to prepare raw water for customer use.
The Utilities' water treatment operations date back to 1942 to
a small plant that was constructed on the mesa near the Garden
of the Gods. The Mesa Water Treatment Plant has been expanded
to a capacity of over 50 million gallons a day.
The Pine Valley Treatment Plant is located on the southwest corner
of the United States Air Force Academy. It has been expanded to
a capacity of 92 million gallons per day. The 75 MGD McCullough
Water Treatment Plant has been constructed near Pine Valley.
Other treatment facilities and their capacities are:
Fountain Valley - 11 MGD
Northfield - retired/inactive
Ute Pass - 2 MGD
