WIZARDS OF THE FINISHING FORTRESS
(THE LABORATORY)
Water Resources Department laboratories monitor quality of both raw and finished water. Colorado Springs water is tested and analyzed for over 100 chemical and biological factors. Some of these analyses are required to meet state and federal standards, while others are part of ongoing quality testing -- for taste and odor, for example. All treated water constantly meets the Safe Drinking Water Act Standards.
Laboratory personnel are prepared to answer customer questions about water quality in homes or businesses. Many situations such as suspected leaks and taste
concerns require on-site investigations. The laboratory, its personnel
and its performance are certified by both the Environmental Protection Agency
and the Colorado State Department of Health.
