Five distinct communities of plants and animals prosper in the moisture-rich bottomlands of Fountain Creek Regional Park. Habitat variety, plentiful food resources, and open water attract and support a complex web of living organisms.
These five communities host an immense variety of plants and animals. Along a system of well-marked trails along Fountain Creek, you may view and explore these areas. With access comes the opportunity to experience the beauty and bounty of these fertile, fragile habitats. Also with access comes a shared responsibility to conserve these resources, for the many animals that depend on them, and for the future generations of visitors who have yet to discover the floodplain's riches.
