Volunteering in Our Community (CFF)

The Community Focus Fund is an outreach program that provides employee volunteer hours, used computer equipment and financial support to local educational and non-profit organizations.

We  sponsor and participate in various community events and activities that are viewed as meaningful to the community. The Community Focus Fund program backs volunteer activities where employees are not compensated.

2011 activities

  • More than 1,200 Colorado Springs Utilities employees, and their friends and families, volunteered 10,044 hours on 172 community projects.
  • Employees volunteered another 15,868 hours to community organizations as troop leaders, coaches, committee members, or as non-profit board members.
  • We totaled 25,912 volunteer hours for the year.
  • Forty-eight employees donated their time and talent to serve on nonprofit or association boards of directors for 68 organizations.
  • The 2011 President’s Volunteer Service Award was presented to 43 employees for donating more than 100 hours to nonprofit organizations.
  • During the holidays, employees donated more than 600 toys and gifts to senior citizens and less fortunate children in our community.
