Without a doubt, one of the greatest challenges facing the utilities industry today is energy planning and how renewable options fit into long-term strategies.

Meaningful and responsible energy planning isn't a trend for us. Our Electric Integrated Resource Plan provides a platform for future energy supply approaches. Through research, public engagement and technical analyses, we're evaluating new resource opportunities for renewable options.

Electric service statistics based on the 2010 Official Statement:

• Number of customers: 210,382
• Annual electric use: 4.63 billion kilowatt hours (kWh) 
• Average service availability: more than 99.99 percent*
• Generating capacity: 1,095 MW winter; 1,082 MW summer 
• Record peak demand: 863 MW (August 2007)
• Miles of wire: 1,083 overhead; 2,368 underground
