Qualified rain shut-off devices, also called rain sensors or rain clicks , are either wired to or communicate wirelessly with an irrigation controller. When a specified amount of rain falls, the sensor will “tell” the controller to shut down until the next scheduled irrigation cycle.

Rebates are available for new construction and retrofit.

Rebate amount

$25, $50 or $100 depending on purchase amount of qualified equipment

Savings

On average, rain shut-off devices reduce irrigation water use by approximately 7.5% which adds up to a savings of about $16 each year.
