If the power goes out in your home, is life put on hold? It's amazing how dependent we are on the electricity feeding our homes. In the kitchen, watching television, using the computer…electricity is involved in nearly everything we do. So when the power goes out, it's comforting to know that someone, somewhere is working on the problem. In Colorado Springs, that "someone" is Colorado Springs Utilities. Colorado Springs Utilities makes every effort to provide the most reliable electric service possible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Power outages can still occur, however, when lightning strikes, equipment fails, animals interfere with power lines or extreme weather hits the Pikes Peak region. Although Colorado Springs Utilities can't completely prevent power outages, we can make every effort to restore power to your home as quickly and efficiently as possible. As part of our ongoing effort to provide you with the most reliable electric service possible, Colorado Springs Utilities offers free Automatic Outage Notification (AON) devices to qualified homes in the Colorado Springs area. One device provides information for an entire neighborhood so not all homes need an AON device. Whether you are at home, at work or on vacation, the AON device automatically contacts Colorado Springs Utilities via your phone line if you experience a power outage. The automatic call lasts approximately five to 10 seconds. If you are interested in having an AON device installed in your home, send us an e-mail or call Customer Care at 719-448-4800. The device and installation are free. |
