Caring for our community

Connecting with our community is a big reason why so many of us spend our personal time volunteering with local nonprofit organizations.

Among the highlights from 2017 are the more than 5,500 meals delivered to homes through Project Angel Heart and the more than 4,700 meals served at the Marion House Soup Kitchen. Our partnership extended to children as well, with employees helping nearly 100 low-income families prepare for school with a shopping trip for new clothes, shoes and supplies.

Commitment to our community goes beyond volunteering. To provide our customers with information on how to use our services safely and efficiently, we launched a new campaign in 2017 called Change the Current. Through this campaign, more than 24,000 LED bulbs were distributed to customers who pledged to Change the Current, which is equal to the yearly electric use of about 65 homes.
