Hundreds attend Efficiency Expo

​The fifth annual Efficiency Expo welcomed approximately 400 people to the Conservation and Environmental Center on Saturday, June 22.

Visitors had a chance to meet with staff and participate at 25 stations to discover efficiency tips that can help save energy, water and money.
 
Almost everyone who attended left us feedback indicating they would make efficiency changes as a result of their experience at the Expo. This is encouraging news, because we are committed to helping people learn the importance of energy and water efficiency. Reducing our electric use and using water wisely is key to our overall sustainability.
 
Kids had fun checking out the giant bubble demonstration and water activities, while others strolled through the garden and toured electric vehicles. Dozens of people won rain barrels and attended a workshop to learn how to use them at home.
 
A few people also earned fun prizes to help them on their way to being more efficient, such as a smart thermostat, new attic insulation, Water Sense® bathroom upgrade, and a smart irrigation controller.
 
Visitors had this to say about the event:
“Every person was engaging with incredible level of enthusiasm and expertise.” 
“Every person talked to us as if this was the only thing in the world they would want to be doing.”
“Loved the plants to see, and all the booths were great too. Great expo. Great info all around.”
“Have not been here before, will return for advice in the future.”
