Beginning the week of Dec. 17, 2018, we are replacing water lines beneath N. Nevada Avenue, from E. Willamette Street to E. Polk Street, to enhance system reliability. This work will affect five intersections, as shown at right. We expect to finish the project by early February 2019.
The first intersection affected will be E. Del Norte Street, which will be completed during winter break for Steele Elementary School. Project manager have not yet determined the order of the other intersections. Please visit again for updates.
Traffic management: Generally, traffic on Nevada Avenue will be shifted to the outside lanes in each direction, which are normally used as bike lanes and for parking. No biking or parking will be allowed near or within the active construction zone. Significant traffic delays are expected and nearby streets may experience additional traffic. Please watch for signage, traffic control measures and reduce speed in the cone zone.
Construction work hours are expected to be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, however night and/or weekend work is possible.
Water outages: Customers who will be affected by planned water outages will be notified 24 hours in advance via notice at the door. Please note that unplanned outages also may occur with any project.
