Due to lower water levels and related safety concerns, Rampart Reservoir will be closed to motorized boating after Sunday, July 15 for the remainder of the season. All other USFS recreational facilities and access for hand-launched watercraft will remain open.
The water level at Rampart Reservoir is lower than recent years because the Homestake Pipeline was out of service for about 6 weeks earlier this spring. Thanks to a diverse water portfolio, the pipeline outage did not affect our ability to serve customers.
While Colorado is experiencing drought and we always encourage the wise use of water, we have adequate supply to serve our community and do not anticipate mandatory watering restrictions this year.
