About 25,000 streetlights help light our community's parks, streets, highways and public places.

The streetlight program is funded through the City of Colorado Springs' annual budget. Developers pay for 100 percent of the capital costs for streetlights in new residential developments and 60 percent of the costs for streetlights on new arterial roadways.

Installation, maintenance and repairs are completed by our crews. An increase of copper theft has made a tremendous impact on the cost of streetlight materials and repairs.

To report a broken or burned out streetlight:

  1. Download the City's GoCoSprings app and report the issue
  2. Submit an online Street Maintenance Request form on the City's website. (For the description of the request, select 'Repair/Replacement'.)
  3. Call customer service at 448-4800.
