Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) requests

Please scroll down and use the interactive features below to request a public record under CORA.

In accordance with the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) (C.R.S. 24-72-201 et seq.), we are ready to assist with requests for public records. Public records open to inspection under CORA include books, papers, maps, photographs, electronic mail and other written materials. In order to be considered a public record it must be maintained by the entity you are contacting.

Under CORA, we have three business days from the time a request is received to make the record available for review to the requestor. Sometimes an extension is necessary if the requested information will take longer than three days to complete. In this case, the requestor would be notified of the request for an extension. If citizens wish to view the public records without receiving a copy there is no charge. There will be a $0.25 per page charge for copying records.

Requests should be as detailed as possible including date, type of record, etc. Please review the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) prior to making a request.

Please call the Records Manager at 668-7543 for more information on submitting a Public Records Act Request.
