Colorado Springs is a semi-arid, high-mountain desert, but that doesn’t mean that we advise only planning landscapes with cacti and rock.
There are a wide variety of water-wise plants that save water and create relaxing and beautiful spaces around your home.
The facility also offers five do-it-yourself landscape displays featuring low-water lawns, plant beds and other landscape elements.
Each display offers plans, details and tips to design and care for each of the landscapes.

- Prairie
Public tour dates
For groups smaller than five, please register for one of our regularly scheduled public tour dates:
- Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026 at 10 a.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026 at 10 a.m.
