Who is Colorado Springs Utilities?

Downtown Colorado SpringsIn 1924 the residents of Colorado Springs voted to create a four-service public utility. Since then, as a municipal utility, our focus has been on the basics – providing reliable power and exceptional customer service while keeping costs low.
Today we continue to provide electricity, natural gas, water and wastewater services to the Pikes Peak region and our customers still enjoy competitive prices, exceptional hometown service, responsible environmental practices and a voice in how their utility operates.

All four services are provided with us which means one company, one bill, and one customer service contact. Utility decisions are made here in Colorado Springs, not by the Public Utilities Commission in Denver or at an out-of-state corporate headquarters. Rates are set only high enough to cover the cost to provide service. There are no profits that go to stakeholders in another city.

Employers are attracted to Colorado Springs because Utilities and government agencies work together to make it easy to do business here. We work to prioritize today’s customer and infrastructure needs with the future impact of legislative changes and customer growth.
