Strong financial ratings help keep costs down for customers

How crediting agencies rate us plays an important role in keeping utility services reliable and costs as low as possible.

Recently, we have again received strong credit ratings from Moody's and S&P Global Ratings, earning an Aa2 and AA+ rating with a stable outlook from both agencies.

These ratings are among the highest in the utility industry and reflect our long-standing commitment to responsible financial planning.

Why does that matter? Strong credit ratings help us borrow money at lower costs when investing in critical infrastructure projects. Lower borrowing costs can translate into savings for customers while helping ensure the community continues to receive safe, reliable utility services.

The rating agencies also recognized our balanced approach to managing finances while maintaining competitive rates. Moody's noted that we continue to “manage the utility in a manner that supports its credit profile while also maintaining a competitive rate advantage relative to neighboring utilities."

Through careful planning and responsible financial stewardship, we continue to invest in the infrastructure customers depend on while maintaining a strong financial foundation for years to come.
