Business insulation rebate

Receive up to 50% of total installation costs back.

Improving your business' insulation is a smart investment that will reduce overhead costs and increase profits.

Heating and cooling systems are one of the largest users of energy for homes and businesses. It's why replacing your insulation can have a noticeable impact on lowering your bill.

The U.S. Department of Energy estimates savings of up to 20% on heating and cooling costs by adding or upgrading attic insulation.

We're here to help make your business more efficient. Business electric and natural gas customers can receive up to:

  • 50% back or $1.25 per square foot for attic insulation and air sealing
  • 50% back or $0.75 per square foot for exterior wall insulation

We will pay whichever total amount is less.

How to apply

Before you get started, review qualifying types of insulation and gather all paperwork and documentation needed to apply.

Please gather the following documents and information: 

  • A signed copy of the rebate's terms and conditions.
  • Specification sheets of the new insulation. (Must include R-value, type of insulation, and depth if applicable.)
  • Before and after installation photos. (Please include photos of insulation and air sealing in attics)
  • Measurements of the insulation's R-value before and after installation.
  • Itemized invoices, which must include:
    • Date of work or purchase
    • Purchase price (including installation and sealant)
    • Type of insulation installed (include the R-value)
    • Insulation depth before and after installation
    • Pre-existing and final R-value
    • Quantity purchased and square footage completed
  • Self installers must include all of the information listed above in addition to an itemized receipt with the following information:
    • The type and value of insulation
    • Type and value of sealant used for air sealing
    • The insulation coverage chart for the specific type installed.

How to submit your application

  1. Review complete program rules.
  2. Gather all documents, measurements, photos and receipts.
  3. Fill out the application form.
  4. Email busrebate@csu.org or mail in your application to Colorado Springs Utilities Efficiency Rebates, PO Box 1103, mail code 1015, Colorado Springs, CO 80947-1015
