Pink Panda Strawberry
Pink Panda strawberry is an ornamental groundcover. Rather than being grown for its fruit, it is grown for its single pink flowers that appear in early summer.
The leaves are glossy and bright green. Pink Panda strawberry will send out runners and fill in an area, but the individual plants are spaced apart rather than growing as a thick carpet. It is a cute plant for a moderate water area with part shade.

Performance
There is a patch of Pink Panda strawberry growing in a shady site at the Xeriscape Garden. It seems to grow well, but is not that noticeable unless it is in bloom. The flowers are quite nice and attract attention when present.
Weeds grow in between the individual plants and have to be removed. Since it spreads by runners, this plant has been quite resilient over time, being able to regrow after it dies back due to drought. It never produces fruit.
Maintenance
The plant itself requires little maintenance. Weeds may need to be removed between individual plants.
