The Midway to Kelker Transmission project upgrades the existing line to increase the amount of electricity that can be delivered to our system. It will also replace wooden poles in wildfire-prone areas with steel poles, improving our infrastructure to help reduce outages during extreme weather events.
Key benefits
The project also supports the needs of our community and positions our electric system to handle future growth.
- These lines increase the amount of electricity that can be delivered into our system.
- Upgrades key infrastructure at the Nixon, Fountain, Bradley and Kelker substations to improve system performance.
- Supports regional energy coordination by strengthening a major corridor that better connects our electric system to broader transmission networks.
