The National Weather Service is forecasting subzero temperatures and light snow to impact the area beginning on Friday, Jan. 23.

Snow totals of 1-3 inches are expected across the Pikes Peak Region, but the frigid temperatures will have the largest impact.

To stay safe, save money and avoid damage to your home, please follow these tips:

Do not use ovens, stoves or camping stoves to heat your home to avoid carbon monoxide.
Open cabinet doors to prevent frozen pipes, especially if the pipes are against an exterior wall.
Allow your faucet to drip to keep water flowing through your pipes.
Open your blinds and curtains on south-facing windows to allow sunlight and heat in. Cover all other windows to keep warm air inside.
