Native Grass Program for Businesses

Up to $0.50 per square foot rebate available

Converting to native grass is one of the most effective ways to save water and reduce outdoor maintenance costs for your business.

Switching from Kentucky Bluegrass to native grass can save up to 80% on your outdoor water bill while maintaining an attractive, healthy and efficient landscape.

We work with you to help save money and water. We offer a rebate of up to $0.50 per square foot to help pay for native grass conversion projects.

This rebate is only for Colorado Springs Utilities commercial water customers completing retrofit projects. It does not apply to new construction.

When is the best time to plant my native grass mix?

For native grasses that contain all warm-season species we recommend planting the seed from June 1-July 31 for irrigated areas. If you are planting a mixture of cool and warm season grasses you can plant earlier in spring or beginning of fall.
