Dry Creek Stream Stabilization

This work is necessary to prevent damage to wastewater pipes for decades to come, ensuring reliable service, while protecting public health and the environment.

Construction details

Workers will be on site Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with work possible on Saturdays. The trail within the construction area will also be closed while work progresses. 

To ensure safe access to the construction site, our crews must pour a 100-foot concrete path from an access point near Oak Hills Drive and Trappers Glen Court to the stream. Flaggers will help manage traffic during concrete truck deliveries. For the safety of our community and crews, please obey posted signs and drive with caution.

Heavy equipment and some noise should be expected in the area during construction. We expect to finish construction work in April 2026, but weather delays could affect this timeline.


Workers will install the following in a 1,500-foot work area:

  • Approximately 10 sculpted concrete drop structures[tooltip text="Concrete structures to help slow the flow of water during flash floods and prevent erosion in creekbeds."]
  • Approximately 17 sculpted concrete cross vanes[tooltip text="Structures that direct water toward the center of a stream to help stabilize a creek and reduce erosion."]

The project will proceed in three 500-ft sections, starting east to west. Once each phase of construction is complete, we will revegetate the area with native grasses.

A before and after example to show the structure of the creekbed before and after creek stabilization efforts. The before photo shows stagnant water in a natural dam. The after photo shows an orderly creek with concrete and rock structures on each side of the water.To complete this work, we must also trim and remove trees to access the site and install the structures. Our crews will make every effort to preserve as many trees as possible. 

Project timeline

December 2025: Work begins in construction area.
 
April 2026: Estimated full project completion. 

• August 2026: Vegetation restoration completion.
