We’re building this network in a way that significantly offsets costs by leasing extra capacity to partners like fiber internet provider, Ting Internet.

Fiber network construction

What to expect during underground construction
Most of the construction of this network will utilize underground boring. Generally, residents can expect the following sequence of work:
Pre-construction
Residents will receive a door hanger letting them know that construction will begin within the week.
To avoid damaging existing utility infrastructure, utilities will be located with special locate paint and flags. This paint is designed to be temporary and will fade with time and exposure to the elements.
Utility Locators may need to access the meters in your backyard.
Underground drilling
Constructions crews excavate and utilize directional drilling to lay conduit that will contain fiber technology. This work will occur in the utility right of way and easements. Residents can expect construction crews with heavy equipment (vac trucks, drills, water trucks, etc.) on trucks and trailers in the area. Traffic may be disrupted, and residents might be asked to move their vehicles to prevent being blocked in.
Installation of utility structures and fiber placement
Utility structures that contain fiber technology will be placed in easements. Then fiber will be installed the underground conduit and structures.
Repair and restoration
Contractors will restore disturbed landscaping, irrigation, and hard surfaces. Full restoration of vegetation and irrigation can only be completed in warm weather months.
What to expect during aerial installations
Fiber optic cable installation may occur on utility poles in your area. Utility poles are in easement areas, typically in alleyways.
- Installation work will involve specialized equipment, including bucket trucks, and may require temporary access to backyard areas.
- Our contractor will attempt to contact you directly if backyard access is needed.
- Estimated Duration: installation on utility poles is expected to take approximately 1-2 days per property.
- There may be temporary noise and minor disruptions during the installation process.
- Access may be temporarily restricted while work is being performed in easement areas. This may include temporary alley closures.

What is Ting Internet’s role in this project?
This lease agreement gives Ting the opportunity to provide internet service to homes and businesses. We do not control Ting’s business decisions regarding internet service.
How will this fiber network benefit our community?
Does this mean I will be able to add Internet service billing to my utilities bill?
What should I expect before work begins in my neighborhood?

What will restoration look like?
Rest assured, our contractor will repair all known damage to your property caused by fiber construction, including landscape restoration and irrigation system repairs.
Please allow our contractor to handle all necessary repairs and restoration. We won’t be able to reimburse repairs done by other companies.
To ensure everything is restored properly, some tasks like sod and irrigation repairs can only be completed during the warmer months.
