Sustainable Energy Plan

Our Sustainable Energy Plan includes several projects and programs to reduce carbon emissions from our operations, manage your long-term costs and maintain our industry-leading reliability.

Sustainable Energy Plan projects and programs are not just focused on growth. Instead, they are intended to provide you with access to reliable, safe and cleaner energy as technology inside your homes and businesses evolves and your needs change.

Through our Sustainable Energy Plan, we will:

  • Maintain safe and dependable energy you can trust.
  • Responsibly manage our costs and support a strong economy.
  • Protect local air quality through an ongoing investment in low-emission natural gas-based electric generation and the careful addition of more renewable energy resources.
  • Provide you with rebate, usage tracking and pricing programs to help you make the best and most economical choices to power your lives.

Air quality and emissions reduction

Our emissions from generating electricity are already lower today than ever before.

For decades we have worked with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and other stakeholders to improve our air quality and comply with regulations.

We are committed to continuing to implement new technologies aimed at reducing our emissions.

A large industrial size battery is suspended in mid-air by a crane. The battery resembled a shipping container and is painted grey. Workers in safety gear stand nearby and help guide it to the gravel lot where it is housed.Virtual community check-in meeting

Join us for a check-in on our Electric and Natural Gas Integrated Resource Plans.

During this meeting we will cover:

  • Review of our Electric and Natural Gas Integrated Resource Plans
  • Progress we’ve made on the projects in our sustainable energy portfolio
  • How we’re planning for our energy future
